Registration
See hours and directions for information on how to get here. The researchers' entrance is at the back of the building. Enter here to register as a Clements Library reader, read the reading room rules, hang up your coat, and ask for a locker for your personal items before entering the reading room.
To complete the registration form, you will need to bring two forms of identification, at least one with a recent photograph. Acceptable forms of identification include a driver's license, student identification card, passport, or identification card from another institution.
Researchers may bring only writing paper, pencils, and laptop computer into the reading room. These items will be checked by the reading room supervisor.
After you have registered, the head of Reader Services or another curator will speak with you briefly about your research interests, to make sure we have information on your research topic. They may also be able to suggest additional materials of interest to you.
