Finishing Your Research

Returning Material

When you're finished with library materials, bring them to the reading room supervisor. You are responsible for materials until the reading room supervisor signs them back in. The reading room supervisor will check your personal items when you exit the room.

Asking for Material to be Held

If your research will take you more than one day, we can hold material for your return visit. When you're finished with your research for the day, let the reading room supervisor know that you want your material held for you. We can hold manuscript collections for one day and books for up to a week.

Requesting Copies

Request forms are available for photocopies, digital scans, and use of a digital camera in the reading room. All requests are subject to a curator's approval. Material may be too fragile to copy.

Requesting Permission to Publish

The library encourages full and free use of all its collections for research purposes. If you want to publish items from the collections in any format or public display, you will need to request permission to publish. All requests are subject to approval by the library director.
