The Longone Center for American Culinary Research at the Clements Library
invites you to join us in this pioneering effort to create a leading
resource for investigating our culinary heritage.
There are many ways you can contribute:
1. Of major importance at this time is fundraising -
for the Symposium, for acquisitions and for an endowment to establish a Permanent
Curatorship. There are many wonderful donor-recognition and naming
opportunities. The Library has additional descriptive material available
and welcomes the opportunity to discuss gifts of $1000 or more. Within
the limits prescribed by law, all contributions are tax deductible and may
be matched by employers as educational contributions to the University of
Michigan.
2. The Archive can use additional donations of individual items to
large collections of materials appropriate to the scope of the Center.
3. The Center needs docents to assist the current
Culinary Historian volunteers with organizing and cataloging
the large number of items that will be part of the Archive
and to help with the Symposium planning and presentation.
