| Jonathan Chase Papers |
The Schoff Revolutionary War Collection contains letters, receipts, and commissions relating to the services of Jonathan Chase, militia Colonel of Cornish, N.H.
Chase raised recruits and provided supplies for the army during the Revolutionary War. His itemized claims against both New Hampshire and the United States are included, as well as supporting documents copied from public records. Several wartime letters to Chase are of interest for depicting the situation in the upper Connecticut valley.
Gift of James S. Schoff, 1958
