The Noyes collection consists of genealogical material gathered by Charles Rutherford Noyes and of various items by or about his father, Horation Smith Noyes of Newton, Massachusetts (Yale Class of 1835). There are poems, lecture notes, and newspaper articles authored by the elder Noyes, as well as 5 letters to Charles relating to the history of the family, and notes and a pamphlet pertaining to the Noyes's English ancestry. John Humphrey Noyes, founder of the Oneida community, was an uncle of Charles Noyes, but does not figure in the collection.
