The University of Michigan Davis, Ellsworth Papers |
Papers, 1913-1934
ca.700 items
Collection of the correspondence of Commander Ellsworth Davis of the U.S. Navy, mostly addressed to family members. During this period, Davis was assigned to several ships, including the Florida, Brooklyn, and Fairfax, on duty in the Mediterranean and off the Atlantic coast of the U.S. The letters provide some insight into the daily life of a naval officer during the teens and twenties, and a considerable amount of information on Davis' family life and relations.
