Jonathan Bass was a son of Samuel and Sarah Lawrence Bass of Boston Mass. who were married in 1782. He graduated from Cambridge ca. 1805 with a degree in law, after which he moved to Braintree, Vermont where he practiced law, presumably until his death. This collection contains primarily letters to Jonathan Bass from his family while attended Cambridge. Also included are several papers relating to Bass family history.
