Autobiographical sketch by Chief Justice John Marshall, written for his friend Justice Joseph Story (1779-1845), 16 pp.

At Story's request, Marshall sent him this sketch in the form of a letter. It is undated, but Story made a notation on it, 'Written in 1827.' This account is the most important autobiographical document written by Marshall.
