Reader Services staff coordinates all services for patrons of the Library's collections, including administration of the Jacob Price Fellowship and all inquiries in the following areas:
- Research at the Clements Library
- General information about the Library's holdings (including information about guides and finding aids, in print or on-line)
- Reading Room Hours
- Library procedures and policies
- Reader registration
- Information about accommodations and transportation for library visitors
- Reproduction of Clements Library material
- Reproduction services and fees
- Permission to publish Clements Library material
- Publications
- The Quarto, the bi-annual newsletter of the Clements Library Associates
- Publication of Clements Library material in books, exhibits, photographs, film, and video
- Library publications in print
- Library tours and use of the facilities
- Membership in the Clements Library Associates
- The Associates are supporters of the Library, its collections, and mission in preserving primary documents pertaining to the history of the Americas.
- The Jacob M. Price Visiting Research Fellowship
The Jacob M. Price Visiting Research Fellowships are offered to facilitate research in the Clements Library's collections.
- Several grants of $1000 are annually available for younger scholars -- graduate students and pre-tenured faculty -- whose work would benefit from use of the library's resources.
- Applicants are considered on the basis of the quality of their research project, the degree to which working at the Clements is necessary for their project, and their need for this type of support.
- Applications are accepted from October to January 15 each year, and awards are announced by the following March 15. Fellowships must be used by December 31, of the year awarded.
- All Fellows must spend a minimum of one week at the Clements Library.
